Hi, I’m Nathaniel Kohfield — a Creative Leader, Fractional CMO, Senior Business Advisor, and Entrepreneur.
While that may sound like a lot of titles, at the core, I’m a seasoned executive with deep expertise in creative leadership, production, and growth-focused marketing—particularly within the eCommerce space.

I got my start about 17 years ago working for a local church developing video content. From there I started my career as a cinematographer shooting commercials, weddings, and a fair amount of corporate work. Through a vast network of corporate clients I started to lean into the ecommerce world and expanded my title from just cinematographer to director, then creative director for a number of large corporations.

For the past eight years, I’ve helped build Resident, the parent company of well-known mattress brands like Nectar and DreamCloud. Following Resident’s acquisition by Ashley Furniture two years ago, I’ve expanded my role to oversee creative operations across both Resident and the Ashley Creative Studios.

With over 17 years of experience in marketing, content production, and team development, I specialize in scaling creative systems and leading high-performing teams for direct-to-consumer brands. In addition to my corporate work, I’ve founded multiple small businesses, including East Bay Grip Co., a lighting and grip rental house based in the Bay Area. I also serve as an advisor to local businesses and support a large nonprofit church in the region.
